Fiction. Fantasy. Romance.
About Amie
Amie Glazier works in content marketing by day, wrangles four kids by night, and dreams up the best meet-cutes and fantasy worlds after bedtime. After following her husband’s military career around the country, Amie and her family now live near Seattle where she is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing and working on her novels.
Whereas Amie mostly writes romances—both contemporary and fantasy—she loves exploring other genres in her short stories. But her depth of character and conflict transcends genre and story length.
When she’s not writing about swoon-worthy moments or magical heroines, you can find Amie binge-reading by the fire, excelling at carpool karaoke, and actually enjoying chemistry while home-brewing beer with her husband.
Dear Reader,
The first story I ever wrote outlined the horrors of making friends when you’re a ten-year-old ghost who haunts a lonely museum. Penned in equally horrific ten-year-old chicken scratch, it was a masterpiece my parents framed as they encouraged me to continue wielding my imagination into words.
Stories have always flowed vividly through my mind. Whether it’s ideas for my own books or the vibrant imagery of someone else’s, words on the page erupt into a world full of adventure and endless possibilities. And love. There has to be romance.
I’ve always been an avid reader, but I lost my belief in writing for a while when the responsibilities of adulthood and parenthood were too overwhelming. But all it takes is one person to believe so unabashedly in the power of your dreams for you to also believe in yourself. And once I rekindled my muse for writing, nothing has stopped me.
My favorite books are the ones that use fantasy worlds to speak to modern day issues in a way that gives us a hope for a brighter future. These are stories that stir our hearts and invigorate our souls. There’s something magical about watching fictional characters overcome harrowing evil that gives us the strength to overcome our own demons. These are the kinds of adventures that live within me and pour from my fingertips onto the page.
I don’t know about you, but I feel the world has too many damsels in distress. As women—and as male and nonbinary allies—it’s time to step into our own power and collectively harness our influence to make a better future for ourselves and the next generation. And if you don’t see the well of power inherent within you, let my fiction fuel you. Because I promise it’s there. Like the kick-ass heroines in my novels, you’re more powerful than you think.
And sister, you’re not alone.
With Love,
Amie
Random Facts About Amie
Do you collect anything?
My toxic trait is needing a Starbucks mug from every place my family goes. They’ve had many iterations of these mugs over the years, and my collection represents ALL versions. To justify my obsessive habit (which I think I have over 70 mugs?), my husband travels a lot for work, and I enjoy drinking out of the mug that represents where he is that day. My favorite mugs are Norway, Maui, and Arednelle (from Frozen).
What’s your favorite drink?
Coffee. Always coffee. And preferably black with a spot of honey. I also love beer—thanks to the semester I spent in Ireland in college and my husband’s home-brew hobby. A crisp hazy IPA or lager is perfect for a summer afternoon. A dry, red wine pairs perfectly with my favorite Thai curry. And a mojito or margarita is perfect when I’m out with friends and feeling fancy.
What’s your favorite book?
I have so many favorite books, but usually the top of my lists are somehow aligned with a romance sub-genre. I will always recommend: The Kindred’s Curse Series by Penn Cole; The Bridge Kingdom Series by Danielle Jensen; By Any Other Name, by Jodi Picoult; any of the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn; The Flight and Glory Series by Rebecca Yarros; anything by Shannon Chakraborty; and A.D. 30 & A.D. 33, by Ted Dekker.
What’s your favorite movie quote?
Besides the answer to life being 42 (and that technically being a book quote anyway), if you are heading out on an adventure I will always say the same thing to bid you farewell. It doesn’t matter if you are going on vacation, going to the grocery store, or trying to find the answer to life yourself, I will modulate my voice into a deep, round tone, and say, “Bye, Buddy. I hope you find your dad.”
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
Most venues and their patrons don’t easily appreciate my go-to songs. So, I will choose some random pop or rock song that my friends peer pressure me into singing. But if I am alone in my car or in my kitchen cooking, I will be belting Wicked or Disney songs. Even though my love affair with Wicked started 20 years ago when it first came to Broadway, I do not discriminate between the movie and stage recordings.
Who was your childhood celeb crush?
JTT BABY! My dad loved watching Home Improvement when I was young, and I loved watching Jonathan Taylor Thomas portray Randy. Honorable mentions include: Leonardo DiCaprio, Backstreet Boys, Channing Tatum, Chad Michael Murray, and Chris Pratt. I was an OG Chris Pratt groupie and fell in love with his acting from his debut role as the brother on Everwood.
